City Transformation
We are Christian leaders in Vancouver
who passionately believe that God has invited us to participate in his plan
to reach and to transform the City of Vancouver. To that end we have been
regularly meeting as a servant leadership team* to hear what the Spirit is
saying to the church in Vancouver and discover what we need to do to see
God move in our city. We believe that God wants to save many people in this
gateway city and bring about a fundamental change so that instead of
exporting darkness Vancouver would export light to the nations.
Covenant Relationships
We are convinced that God wants to use
individuals who are in covenant relationship with each other to extend his
kingdom. “God organizes and administrates his kingdom through the gift of
friendships.” (John Dawson) The servant leadership team of the ACMV is
intended to be an expression of this reality. One primary vehicle by which
the team has been fulfilling its mandate is the overseeing and facilitating
of the weekly Vancouver Pastors’ Prayer Fellowship. In the context of the
VPPF there is opportunity for covenant relationships at various levels of
participation according to the need of the hour and availability of those
leaders. In addition, there are other ministries to which the team relates
from time to time depending on the focus of the moment.
Divinely Ordered Events
The general vision of city
transformation and covenant relationships will necessarily lead to divinely
ordered evangelistic and/or city-wide church gatherings which the servant
leadership team will plan and implement. These events are intended to
strengthen Christian leaders, grow the church and prosper the city. There
are other events with which the team will participate at various levels
from time to time as the Lord directs. The team is prepared to interface
and interact with and inform other ministries who plan church-wide events
in Vancouver but does not necessarily see itself as an endorsing body.
Disciple-making
The ultimate outcome of these events is
the making of disciples of Jesus Christ. By disciples we mean people who
are saved and vitally connected to local churches where they will grow
spiritually and become dynamic ministers of the gospel in the marketplace.
It is mainly in this way that the kingdom of God will be extended in
Vancouver.
Demonstration of Glory of God through
Signs and Wonders
We fully expect that as God begins to
transform this city we will see Him confirm His word with signs and
wonders.
* We are
officially registered under the Society Act of British Columbia as the
“Association of Christian Ministries (Vancouver)”. The present members of
